Christmas is right around the corner, and the festive mood is upon us all to spread some much needed festive cheer. With the year we’ve all had, Christmas is probably most awaited, given that it also means an end to this horrid year. And then we can all ring in the New Year with some hope.
But the main thing right now is Christmas, and obviously that means movies. And Christmas movies are the best, aren’t they? With all the love and festivities going around, they provide us with the feel good factor that we are always in lookout for.
So here are the ten best Christmas movies (and no, we are not going to include Die Hard, Jake!) that are streaming on Netflix right now. Old and new, with these movies let’s add some joy to our lives.
The Christmas Chronicles
Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are Mr. and Mrs. Claus in this holiday feel good movie about the life of one Santa Claus. So if you’re looking for something to sit back, relax and enjoy with the family, look no further.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
Jim Carrey plays the Grinch who plans to steal Christmas, because he hates anything remotely happy. But a little girl, who of course loves all things Christmas, sets out to get the Grinch to learn how to be happy once more.
A Christmas Prince
A journalist sets out to get an interview with a Prince who is soon to be crowned and ends up getting a lot more than she expected. Rose McIver (is not so iZombie here) stars in this lovely Christmas movie, along with its two sequels. Have fun!
The Princess Switch
Vanessa Hudgens plays a Duchess as well as an ordinary girl from Chicago. They switch places and (not so much) chaos ensues, which of course, comes with living someone else’s life. There is a sequel as well of this Netflix original – The Princess Switch: Switched Again, which will be out this weekend.
The Knight Before Christmas
A Knight from the medieval area transports through time and fall in love with a high school teacher. Vanessa Hudgens is again the star of this Netflix Christmas romance, along with Josh Whitehouse and is frankly a really good movie to watch this Christmas season.
A Bad Moms Christmas
The 2016 Bad Mom’s are back, but with a Christmas twist this time around. Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn have to organize the perfect Christmas for their family and the mishaps in achieving that are never ending. A sweet, silly and salacious Christmas movie, here we go!
Home Alone, Christmas Break-In
When a pair of bad guys kidnaps the school janitor, a nine year old stuck in school because of blizzard steps in to save the day, and the janitor. In true Home Alone fashion, this movie goes all around the block to bring you home filled with warmth and love. Netflix, let’s go!
If you are single, and your parents are hounding you about your dating life and you are so done with it – watch Holidate, maybe? Or not! It’s fun, at times romantic, with a lot of funny throw in (I mean it stars Emma Roberts and Kristin Chenoweth). So you are definitely in for a good time.
The Holiday Calendar
It has Kat Graham and magic, but no vampires, thankfully. A calendar that predicts the future leads to a budding romance in this tale of Christmas holiday. Maybe a little predictable at time, but it does leave you with that warm and feel good feeling we are looking for in this holiday season.
Let It Snow
This Netflix original is based on a YA novel by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle. A bunch of high school students come together as a snowstorm hits their small town and of course, love and friendship blossoms all around. Also, it has Kiernan Shipka amongt all others!
