Marvel Cinematic Universe has great films and series at the moment but there are really bad Marvel movies out there and even some TV shows which Marvel Studios would want all of us to forget.

While DC also has some horrible live-action adaptations, they are nowhere as bad as 1979’s Captain America II: Death Too Soon. Here are some really bad Marvel movies we don’t remember.

1. Howard The Duck – 1986

Marvel
Howard the duck

Howard the Duck has a huge fan following and we got his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy. But his movie from 1986 is literally the worst. The effects and story were terrible and dragged while the performances were okay-ish.

2. Captain America – 1944

Marvel
Captain America

This was the first-ever live-action of Captain America back in 1944 and was a black and white film. In the movie, Captain America was trying to stop The Scarab from acquiring a superweapon, “Dynamic Vibrator”. Why does this movie still exist?

3. Doctor Strange – 1978

Marvel
Doctor Strange

CBS was not even trying to get some business while making a film about the Sorcerer Supreme in an era where the visual effects were so bad. And it’s not s surprise that this 1978’s attempt at Dr. Strange earned a score of 24% on Rotten Tomatoes.

4. The Amazing Spider-Man – 1977

Marvel
Spider-Man

Thie “made for tv” movie had also gotten a theatrical release overseas and the movie created nothing but misery and some confusion. The effects were extremely hilarious.

5. The Trial of The Incredible Hulk – 1989

Marvel
Hulk and Daredevil

The Trial of the Incredible Hulk gave us a team-up of Marvel heroes! Hulk and Daredevil came together to defeat Wilson Fisk.  Daredevil was made to wear a gimp suit and they also wasted John- Rhys Davies talent in his role as Wilson Fisk. Such a shame!

6. Elektra – 2005

Marvel
Elektra

Elektra was one of those terrible movies that came out due to 2003’s Daredevil but it was one of the first female-led superhero movies. And probably it could have had more impact if anyone had liked or even seen it.

7. The Punisher – 1989

Marvel
The Punisher

The Punisher of 1989 was really the worst. This adaptation starred Dolph Lundgren who is one of the most underrated actors of Hollywood. This movie was so bad that it scored 28% on Rotten Tomatoes and had featured racism, excessive violence, and every terrible thing you can imagine.

8. Captain America and Captain Ameria II: Death Too Soon – 1979

Marvel
Captain America

Captain America did get a lot of nonsensical and terrible live-action adaptations. These two movies came out in 1979 and have a Rotten Tomatoes score of 10%. But then looks like they figured out how to get things likable since the second movie got a 15% rating.

9.  Captain America – 1990

Marvel
Captain America

This 1990 version of Captain America was straight to video movie. It was honestly bad. It starred Matt Salinger aka J.D Salinger’s son. But despite him being famous and have some star power, the film did do miserably with the critics as well as the box office.

10. The Incredible Hulk Returns – 1988

Marvel
Hulk with Thor

This 1988 version of Hulk received more of a lukewarm reaction from the audience. It had a quite funny representation of Thor. In the movie, Thor serves the whims of an archeology student Donald Blake since he happened to stumble upon Thor’s hammer on an expedition in Norway.
