The MCU will soon be crawling with new characters. Phase 4 is bringing in tons of heroes and villains. We’ve got the likes of Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Taskmaster, Eternals, Shang-Chi, Blade, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Daredevil, and many others making their debut in Phase 4. But what do we know about the Phase 5 heroes? Well, there are plenty of characters that are rumored and confirmed to appear in Phase 5 projects. So, let’s take a look at the most anticipated ones of the bunch:

Nova

Kevin Feige was recently asked about Nova’s MCU debut. He said, “clearly, we are not shying away from the cosmic end of storytelling right in the sweet spot of the Nova Corps and Nova himself.” He also hinted at both Sam Alexander and Richard Rider making their way into the MCU when the time is right. Well, we believe that the right time will arrive in Phase 5. There’s plenty of set up for Nova’s arrival, and he could make his debut in Captain Marvel 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, or even the Secret Invasion series. After that, he could go on to star in his solo project.

Namor

Iron Man 2 and Avengers: Endgame had specific Easter Eggs and references that set up Atlantis. And now, our friends at FandomWire have brought in a new scoop suggesting that Atlantis will go to war against Wakanda in Black Panther II. Leading the Atlanteans will be Namor the Submariner. He will start off as an antagonist, but will soon turn into a protagonist (Anti-hero) after that.

Doctor Doom

FandomWire revealed that Namor won’t be the only antagonist in the Black Panther sequel. Apparently, there will be another big bad pulling strings from behind the scenes. This bad guy is none other than Doctor Doom. Now you have to remember that FandomWire is the one that broke out the news about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield joining Homecoming 3. So, their Doctor Doom scoop could be on point, especially because Murphy’s Multiverse also reported the same rumor last year. FW wrote that Victor von Doom will appear in his “full Doctor Doom armor,” and he “will eventually meet up with Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm at some point in the future.”

Fantastic Four

Kevin Feige confirmed that a Fantastic Four movie is currently under development at Marvel Studios. Last year, Charles Murphy reported that Marvel is developing the Fantastic Four movie under the “Solve Everything” productions banner. So, we suspect that Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm will get their first movie by 2023. Marvel’s first family will definitely make their debut in Phase 5.

The High Evolutionary

Rocket the high evolutionary

Reports have suggested that Herbert Wyndham aka the High Evolutionary will be the main villain of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He is the one who experimented upon Rocket Raccoon. Rumors suggest that James Gunn could bring Doctor Who actor, Peter Capaldi from The Suicide Squad to play the High Evolutionary. We’re excited about his arrival because he could introduce even more evolved characters like Rocket Raccoon.

Adam Warlock

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 should bring Adam Warlock into the picture after his big set up towards the end of Vol. 2. But we’re confused as to how the golden boy will make his debut with the High Evolutionary also being in the film. After all, he is also supposed to start off as an antagonist. For now, let’s just leave this worry upon James Gunn. We should just be excited that Adam Warlock will take on the Guardians in Vol. 3.

Kang the Conqueror

Jonathan Majors is going to play Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The title of the film confirms that the hidden city we saw in the Quantum Realm was Kang’s Chronopolis. That city is how Janet Van Dyne probably survived for so many years within the Quantum Realm. It will be interesting to see whether Kang makes his debut in Loki itself. The reason we’re so excited for him is that he is a time-traveling villain, and we could see him take on the Avengers in the next crossover event.

Ironheart

Dominique Thorne is set to play Riri Williams in her own new Disney+ series, Ironheart. Black Widow is passing on the torch to Yelena Belova. Kate Bishop will become the new Hawkeye. There’s a She-Hulk coming in to join Smart Hulk. Sam Wilson is set to become the new Captain America. And Thor: Love and Thunder will bring us not one, but two Thors. Iron Man was the only one left with no real successor. Spider-Man is his own hero and War Machine was more of a sidekick. But, Riri Williams will be the successor to Iron Man. Kevin Feige promised that her suit will be even more advanced than Tony’s. That alone should excite everyone.

Deadpool

deadpool 3

An R-Rated Deadpool 3 is confirmed to be set within the MCU. So, we’re extremely psyched to see Deadpool within the MCU. How he makes his way into this elaborate cinematic multiverse is still a mystery. But the important thing is that he is coming.

Other Mutants

Wolverine Cyclops Jean Grey

We’re pretty sure that Deadpool won’t be the only mutant to arrive in Phase 5. By 2023 or 2024, we will probably see the likes of Wolverine, Professor X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, and Magneto make their way into the MCU. Kevin Feige recently confirmed that an X-Men movie has already been discussed over at Marvel. So, it has to happen in late Phase 5.

Which of these characters are you most excited to see? Tell us in the comments section.
