Finally, it is time for the Marvel woman to come to the spotlight and shine. There are numerous projects for these Marvel ladies that are now much closer to their implementation. Not only do we have the list of confirmed assignments for now but also, there are a few movies that have been rumoured and may seriously be on the work.
If a movie is ready to set on and on the plate for serving or only rumoured, fans can not help but only wait for things to take shape and movies to come to life. We penetrated into the deepest chores of internet only to find which rumours are true and those that are not. However, here is a list of 3 Female Superhero Movies Currently In Development (And 1 Rumored).
Under Development: CAPTAIN MARVEL
Captain Marvel is on the go to be released and be the 21st movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moreover, most unbelievably, it will be the first to be led by a female figure.
Marvel began to evolve the film back in May 2013 but it took another three years to cast Brie Larson, which was declared at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con International. The movie will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and will feature many characters from the MCU.
Captain Marvel is prepared for sometime during the 1990s, hence the film may not have anything to do with the recent events of Avengers: Infinity War. While much of the film’s plot details remain a closely guarded secret, it is assumed to engage the Kree-Skrull War and other storylines related to those characters.
Captain Marvel is set to release on March 8, 2019.
Under Development: ALITA: BATTLE GIRL
Alita: Battle Angel, is another Marvel character who is based on the hit manga series already adapted into anime by Yukito Kishiro. Robert Rodriguez has decided to do this project, which will star Rosa Salazar, Christoph Walz, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, Michelle Rodriguez, and many more.
The film is being produced by James Cameron, who also adapted the manga into the screenplay.
The body of the film will revolve around the first four books of the series, which comprise the establishment of the character, her impressive rise towards stardom, the sport of Motorball, which featured heavily in the third and fourth book, and the underlying conflict the lore present throughout.
Alita: Battle Angel is scheduled to release on December 21, 2018
Back when Kick-Ass hit; however in 2010, audiences were stunned and impressed by then-11-year-old Chloë Grace Moretz, who played Hit-Girl. Very quickly, talk of a spinoff starring the masked child assassin followed for years. The second Kick-Ass film failed to meet box office expectations, which is why the third never made it to development, but a Hit-Girl project is a possibility.
Matthew Vaughn, the director of the first Kick-Ass film, is reportedly working on a solo Hit-Girl film as well as a reboot of the Kick-Ass franchise with the goal of streaming it on Netflix. The Hit-Girl film could properly focus on a previous version of the character or even follow her previous years when she was trained by Big Daddy. Whatever the plot, fans are eagerly awaiting news of this project.
Under Development: WONDER WOMAN 1984
Wonder Woman’s incredible success at the box office and in the critical reception only delivered little or no doubt whether DC will really come up with a sequel of the same. Most, fortunately, this is the gift we are getting from the makers of the film once the movie releases as Wonder Woman 1984 in 2019.
The movie is being directed by Jenkins and will have Gal Gadot to star once again. Kristen Wiig has been confirmed as Barbara Ann Minerva, aka Cheetah, one of Wonder Woman’s greatest comic book villains. It is quite interesting to note, despite his seemingly final fate in Wonder Woman, Chris Pine will reprise his role as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman 1984.
The body of the film is mostly unknown to all, however, it shall take shape in the 1980s and will revolve around the battle between the United States and the Soviet Union. Moreover, she will engage with Cheetah, but there is no indication how this will play out.
The film is about to release on November 1, 2019.
