Living the life of an A-list celebrity isn’t always glamorous, especially when the right to privacy is virtually non-existent due to the horde of photographers that appear to follow every step these celebrities take. The phrase “privacy” isn’t in a celebrity’s language, and regrettably, things have only become worse as some of these photographers go too far, particularly with celebrity children. In 2013, Halle Berry spoke on behalf of her then-13-year-old daughter about a measure that would safeguard the children of high-profile celebrities from the paparazzi. “My daughter doesn’t want to attend school because she knows ‘the guys’ are monitoring her,” she said in her statement, according to CBS News. In California, the measure was successfully signed into law. However, there is currently no legislation shielding celebrity couples from being caught arguing or fighting in public, which is then blown up in the tabloids. While no relationship (famous or not) is flawless, these celebrities have unhappily found themselves in public spats that were not supposed to be recorded on camera. The celebrity couples listed below have had public brawls that were unfortunately captured or overheard by passersby and made news.

Courteney Cox and musician Johnny McDaid had been dating since 2013 and took their relationship to the next level when the Snow Patrol singer proposed six months later. However, by November 2015, Cosmopolitan claimed that the pair had split because Cox was determined to live in Los Angeles while McDaid preferred that they go to London. While the couple renewed their romance in 2016, resolving to work things out and live on different sides of the Atlantic, paparazzi saw them bickering outside a restaurant in West London in August of the same year, according to the Daily Mail. Cox was photographed flailing her arms and appearing “strained” as the pair sat outside Granger & Co. in Notting Hill, London. At one point, Cox looked to be holding her head in her hands as things began to become more emotional, even turning her head away from her lover. According to the Daily Mail, Cox gave McDaid “the quiet treatment” before leaving the table. Despite photos of the pair in what seemed to be a furious dispute, the couple is still going strong as of this writing. They even spent most of 2020 apart owing to the coronavirus (via Hello!) However, they seemed to reconnect in December 2020 after sharing a video on Twitter together for the Ráth Mór community.

Shia LaBeouf’s conduct has been strange throughout the years, and things almost went nasty when he and his ex-longtime girlfriend Mia Goth got into an argument in Germany in 2015, which was all caught on tape. According to ET, LaBeouf was in the midst of an altercation with Goth on the streets of Germany when a few bystanders interfered. “I don’t want to touch a woman, I don’t want to punch a lady, but I’m being pushed,” LaBeouf was heard saying. When he gets into a local’s car to transport him to the airport, he informs them, “If I’d stayed there, I would have murdered her.” The pair had managed to put their terrifying battle behind them and even got married in Las Vegas in 2016, but they announced their split two years later. However, according to People, the two were recently photographed together in 2020, with both wearing wedding rings. Before rekindling with Goth, LaBeouf dated singer FKA Twigs in 2018, but she filed a lawsuit against him for abuse in 2020, telling The New York Times, “What I went through with Shia was the worst thing I’ve ever gone through in my whole life.” If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 18007997233. “Arrow” star Stephen Amell and his wife Cassandra Jean Amell have been married since 2012, but they had an incident on a Delta trip from Austin to Los Angeles that resulted in the actor being removed from the plane, according to Page Six. According to the story, Amell was yelling at his wife on the plane and seemed to be inebriated when a flight attendant repeatedly requested him to calm down. The actor, however, was removed from the flight by an air marshal and three flight attendants, who then took him off the plane, while his wife remained on the flight destined for Los Angeles. Amell felt compelled to inform his followers what occurred on Twitter after the event became public, explaining that he let his “emotions get the best of him.” “My wife and I got into a fight on a Delta trip from Austin to Los Angeles on Monday afternoon. I was told to lower my voice, which I did. After about 10 minutes, I was ordered to exit the plane. And I did so right away. I let my emotions get the best of me, and that’s the end of the tale. It has to be a sluggish news cycle. ”

In March 2021, paparazzi photographed Hollywood couple Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman arguing while strolling with their son, Eric, and their dog. People passing by the couple reported that the “X Factor” judge “had a face like thunder” while the couple appeared to be arguing, resulting in Silverman walking away from Cowell and the former “American Idol” judge crossing the street to walk on the opposite side of the road while speaking on his phone. It wasn’t the first time the pair had been caught bickering in public. Cowell and Silverman seemed to be having a furious dispute inside a vehicle in New York City in 2013. According to Page Six, the pair were spotted arguing at the rear of an SVU with their windows down in broad daylight. Cowell was seen with his hands in the air, while Silverman appeared upset. Hours later, the couple appeared to be OK as they strolled down New York’s Upper East Side, smiling. The pair have yet to marry as of this writing, but they do have a kid named Eric, who was named after Cowell’s father, according to Good Housekeeping.

When Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016, alleging irreconcilable differences and requesting primary custody of their six children, many fans were taken aback. In 2019, a judge decided that Pitt and Jolie were legally single, and Page Six reported that Pitt was granted joint custody of their children as of 2021. Their divorce, however, is still continuing, according to Us Weekly, since the coronavirus has hindered their “legal matters.” Before the former A-list couple called it quits, it looked like they were having problems in paradise when The Sun claimed that the pair were observed arguing at Legoland the same year Jolie filed for divorce. According to eyewitnesses, the actors “didn’t look happy” and appeared “stern-faced” as images showed Pitt clutching Jolie’s arm as she pulled away and appeared to be yelling at him at one point. Divorce is never easy, especially when it involves Hollywood celebrities who are always in the spotlight. According to Us Weekly, after years of custody fights and child support controversy, Pitt and Jolie are learning to co-parent their children. According to the Daily Mail, Pitt has even been seen visiting Jolie’s home to spend time with his children. For the sake of their children, let’s hope everything works out between these two megastars.
