The movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is very difficult to classify. It has aspects of a comedy, a drama, an action, and an adventure movie. The best cameo in the film is found in the middle of the credits. The character, Clea, appears and comic book fans know that she plays an essential role in the story of Doctor Strange and his introduction to magic. Clea was created by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee in 1964 and these are the 5 facts about Clea that you didn’t know about –

Clea Has Remained Nameless For Two Years

She is a strong and wise woman who’s been the “power behind the throne,” ever since her comic book debut in Strange Tales #126. It’s often been said that Clea was used as a plot device to give an edge of credibility to the powerful sorcerer Doctor Strange. In a way, she made Doctor Strange appear more dimensionally because he needed someone to save him from his egotism and loneliness. But in the journey, she remained nameless for two years unless Strange Tales #146 arrived in 1966.

She Is The Niece Of Dormammu

Clea is one of the most powerful sorceresses in the Marvel Universe. Her vast knowledge and experience with ways of magic are directly connected to her parentage. With that being said,  Clea is the niece of Dormammu, the ruler of the Dark Dimension, who took that position following his own father’s death years before his battle against Dr. Strange. As heir apparent to the throne, Umar was once Orini’s wife and Clea’s mother as well as Dormammu’s sister.

Clea Is A Dimension Hopper

Clea began her life as an obscure character in the pages of Strange Tales when she tumbled through the multiverse. After Dormammu loses the Dark Dimension’s control, his estranged wife Umar makes a power play. She swears vengeance on and strikes out against the younger sorceress, casting her out of the homeland she had already spent her exile in and quickly running her down through all manner of time cubes.

Clea Was Once Strange’s Student

She decides to remain on Earth for some time, but she also ceases to have any more ties back in the Dark Dimension. As a result, she gets trained in the mystic arts at Stephen Strange’s side, during which they become closer than before and eventually decide to begin a relationship with each other. Clea has officially begun her training under the tutelage of Doctor Strange as a student of the Mystic Arts.

She Was Once The Ruler Of The Dark Dimension

Another likely possibility for Clea in the MCU had been seeded years before her most recent appearance. In fact, a war for control of the Dark Dimension began in Doctor Strange #73 after Dormammu enslaved Clea. As a result, after defeating everyone, she finally became the ruler of the Dark Dimension. She took her place as ruler after confronting her mother Umar. Fans are hoping that Umar will be introduced in a future film now that Clea has been introduced in “Marvel’s Runaways”.
