The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a significant number of mightiest heroes who put their lives in danger so that they could save the world. However, not every hero does it all on their own. In fact, they are backed with some loveable and well-developed side characters who help to make a successful shared cinematic universe in many ways.

With that being said, former side characters like Agent Coulson, Pepper Potts, or Maria Hill have managed to move into major MCU roles. But these are the 5 Marvel Cinematic Universe side characters who should star in their own Marvel films –

Katy – Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Marvel’s latest theatrical release, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has been quite successful in the Box Office. It managed to bring a new mystical hero as a member alongside the Avengers’ ranks. But apparently, Shang-Chi wasn’t alone in his journey. With that being said, Shang-Chi was joined by one of his closest friends, Katy. She was a fellow valet to Shang-Chi and was quite hilarious with a captivating arc. Perhaps that is what made her hit the MCU fans instantly and beloved by all.

Korg – Thor: Ragnarok

After attempting to rebel against the Grandmaster in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, the alien Kronan, AKA Korg got trapped on Sakaar along with the Hulk and Thor. With that being said, Korg possesses a very unique charm and personality that appears to be quite contradictory to his rocky and strong build. However, he has been a loyal ally to the God of Thunder and that is how he managed to become the fan-favorite as well.

The Guy In The Chair –Spider-Man

Tom Holland’s Peter Parker has managed to become the Spider-Man in the recent MCU phases. While Parker got an opportunity to get mentored by Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man, the character has developed way far from how he debuted. However, it wasn’t Peter Parker alone who managed to kill all the baddies in town. He got backed by his pal from the high school, Ned Leeds. Ned refers to himself as the “guy in the chair” for Spider-Man. With that being said, Ned’s attitude and excitement for Spider-Man’s adventures are what make the character lovable and attractive. Perhaps a separate film about him and his perception will add a comedic angle to the MCU.

Happy Hogan – Iron Man

Tony Stark first appeared with his bodyguard and driver, Happy Hogan. Soon, Happy managed to become a close friend and the head of security to Tony. With that being said, after Tony’s demise in Avengers: Endgame, Happy found another role as a mentor and support system to Peter Parker, Tony Stark’s young ally. Moreover, Happy Hogan has been a prominent part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and thus, he deserves to get an opportunity to echo his side of the stories and his journey as well.

Harley Keener –Iron Man 3

This might sound weird to some people but when 2013’s Iron Man 3 introduced Harley Keener’s younger version, fans actually loved him. With that being said, it was Keener who helped Tony Stark get back on his feet and that is how the two managed to develop a close friendship between each other. However, Keener never got an opportunity to be seen much in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His last appearance was recorded during Tony Stark’s funeral in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. There, fans also observed Keener’s relationship with Harley. With that said, the young man deserves an opportunity to appear someday separately in the MCU to echo his story.
