Every decade has had the best cartoons, not just in terms of presentation, graphics but also in their story-lines. The cartoons in the 2010s brought us some really thoughtful yet creative, groundbreaking animated series. The 2010s showed us that cartoons aren’t just for the kids. The adults can be stuck on cartoons just as much as a kid would. And it turned out to actually be a bonus for adults. Let’s dive in:

Rick and Morty
Ricky and Morty were the funniest.
  1. Ricky and Morty

It has to be one of the smartest TV animated shows the world saw in 2013. It also shows the darkest humor and nihilism in its time, yet its impact is undeniable. The story has a little of everything, the brilliance of Rick Sanchez, the not-so-sharp wit of his grandson, Morty, hilarious script, family drama, and their thirst for adventure. The show’s greatness comes from the brilliantly written story-line and, of course, the show writers and their knowledge about cosmology. This kept the show to continue being unpredictable and indulging.

BoJack Horseman
BoJack Horseman gave us a reality check.
  1. BoJack Horseman

Netflix has given us one of the, undeniably, most fantastic animated series since 2014. The show stars Will Arnett as the sound of BoJack Horseman. This show’s writers have brilliantly put forth a serious, uncomfortable issue wrapped in an absurd comedy, giving the world a quick reality check. The horse appears as an effete actor/celebrity and subtly shows the importance of mental health, addiction, loneliness, and depression. At the same time, the show is entertaining, funny, and enticing.

Voltron: Legendary Defender
Dreamworks and Netflix’s creation
  1. Voltron: Legendary Defender

This list cannot miss the ultimate mix of action and emotion, and Voltron delivered it the best way. This saga is the best example of how excellent an action-animation series can be with a kick-ass story. Netflix’s and Dreamwork’s Animation‘s teamwork created the remarkable show. The flow of the story and the audio running in the background for various kinds of scenes just shows how much thought went into creating the show and how intricately the show was designed.

Archer
Sterling Archer is the anti-James Bond.
  1. Archer

Archer has a series of uniquely well-written episodes. Every season is unique in its own way. Because of which the show hit a milestone of running for over ten years. Adam Reed directed the new seasons, anthology-based, because of which the show took a turn. The characters of the series were equally hilarious and interesting. Sterling Archer‘s character is rude, selfish and sex-crazed. But the character’s candidness still makes it lovable and interesting.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
TMNTs were the best superheroes.
  1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ was the best superhero animated series of the decade. Its uniqueness lies in creating the turtle ninja characters and giving them a sense of morality. The show was action-packed and successfully hooked kids and adults to the TV screens. Re-watching the show now will provide you with heaps of nostalgia and would still be able to hook you to the TV screens.

Gravity Falls
The best sibling duo.
  1. Gravity Falls

Gravity Falls is not just an adventure series but also shows the loving relationship between the two siblings. The show-makers carefully designed the details of the puzzles and the hidden messages in the show. The show revolved around the brother-sister twins, Dipper and Mable, visiting their great-uncle’s cabin in Gravity Falls. There they find a journal, and their adventure begins.

Bob's Burgers
Wackiest family!

It is the most underrated show of its time a by being a hilarious sitcom, it also depicts the importance of having a crazy yet supportive family.
