According to the Des Moines Register, Momoa, an only child, was born in Honolulu to a photographer mother and a painter father, but he was relocated to Madison County, Iowa, when he was 6 months old after his parents separated. Momoa returned to Hawaii after high school to attend the University of Hawaii. He is still very much in touch with his Polynesian heritage. In 2019, he told CNN about Hawaii. “It’s where I live. I’m from Hawaii. It refers to my nationality. ”
6. Momoa pretended he’d worked as a model to score his first acting gig:
It has been generally claimed that Momoa began his career as a model and was crowned Hawaii’s Model of the Year at the age of 20. Momoa, on the other hand, has acknowledged it was a falsehood he put up in order to land his first acting role in “Baywatch: Hawaii.” In 2018, he told Square Mile, “Actually, I made that s—-up!” He said that when at a casting call with hundreds of other individuals, he was asked for a resume, which he did not have. “They were all like, ‘Dude, have you ever acted?'” he said. “I said ‘No,’ and they asked, ‘Have you modelled?’ ‘Sure, yeah, I’m a huge model,’ I said. I do Gucci and Louis Vuitton, ‘and I looked at my pal and said, ‘Did you do Prada?’ ‘Sure, yeah, we did it in Japan,’ he says. So we were simply making it up as we went along. ”
5. Before he decided on his now-signature long hair, Momoa had dreadlocks while on “Stargate: Atlantis.”
Momoa wore dreadlocks in the sci-fi programme “Stargate: Atlantis” in the early 2000s until they grew so thick that he had them chopped off between the fourth and fifth seasons, according to GateWorld. In order for his character, Ronon Dex, to maintain his trademark appearance, the programme created a $10,000 bespoke wig for him to wear instead… despite the fact that it was just as heavy as his original hair. Let’s face it, short hair, long hair, or dreadlocks? Momoa can pull off anything.
4. He’s an avid rock climber and has his own line of climbing products:
According to Momoa, “climbing discovered me, blessed me, and I fell in love with it.” Through his YouTube channel and Instagram profile, we’ve been able to witness exactly how good a climber the “Got” and “Aquaman” star is. He’s not simply a hobbyist, though; he’s well-liked by some of the sport’s greatest stars. In 2019, he met Jimmy Chin, the Oscar-winning filmmaker of “Free Solo” and a climber in his own right. He even handed up Chin’s Oscar for best documentary feature. Momoa also has his own climbing goods brand called So iLL. He’s such a lover of the sport that he’s started training his children to climb.

The shark is Momoa’s family’s protector. The rows of black triangles on Momoa’s left arm are supposed to imitate shark teeth, according to Yahoo Entertainment. When he’s in the water, sharks are supposed to identify him as one of their own.
2. Momoa gives fans a glimpse into his life through his YouTube channel:
Momoa’s YouTube account provides an intimate peek into his personal and professional life, whether it’s a journey back home to visit his mother in Iowa, a behind-the-scenes video shooting for his show “See,” or surprising his wife with a classic Mustang. Not to mention all of the crazy motorbike riding, climbing, and other great things he does throughout the world.
1. Momoa is surprisingly good friends with Lenny Kravitz, the ex-husband of his wife, Lisa Bonet, and is close with step-daughter Zoë Kravitz:

You let love dominate, didn’t you? ” Kravitz was married to Bonet from 1987 to 1993, and the couple had one daughter, Zo. “I mean, clearly, it’s work after a breakup — it takes some effort and time, healing and introspection, and so on,” Kravitz said. “But what about Jason and me?
