The last one year has been an eventful one for comic book fans with Marvel coming up with Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Thor: Ragnarok and Spiderman: Homecoming. We can term them as appetizers as it was followed by gigantic releases like Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther and Antman and the Wasp. We aren’t quick to forget DC who came up with the blockbuster Wonder Woman and Justice League which were just some months from the release dates. Things are going to get bigger and meaner with both the studios have several movies lined up for the next one year too. Let’s take a look at the list of movies now.

Wonder Woman 1984

We cannot reiterate as to how the first instalment of the movie got fans excited and rooting for a woman superhero.  The sequel will finally release after it’s slated for a November 1, 2019 release. The Gal Gadot starrer will once again be seen as the Amazon Princess and will be seen fighting the famous villain: The Cheetah. Chris Pine will be seen joining the cast but, his role has not been defined or publicized yet. Some say that it can’t be called a sequel and a different chapter from Wonder Woman’s life.

Avengers 4

Avengers 4 will be the ultimate game definer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and fans have been waiting with baited breath for a release date. The last was Avengers: Infinity War and the dark ending has left fans wondering what could be in store after Thanos’s snap move. His idea to massacre half of the universe’s population saw us losing some of our favourite Superheroes like Spiderman, Black Panther and more. The official title and the release date is yet to be announced. All we know for now is that it will hit the screens in May 2019.

Spiderman – Far From Home

Peter Parker is all set to return in the next instalment of Spiderman and frankly, fans have been speculating the possibilities in this sequel. The movie has been slated for a July 5, 2019 release and Tim Holland will be seen as Spidey once again. This movie will come right after Avengers 4 and the outcome of it is easily relatable to the Spiderman instalment as well.  The last we heard is that Mysterio could play the antagonist in the movie.

The New Mutants

The New Mutants movie was set to hit the screens by April 2018 and studio schedules and extensive re-shoots have pushed it to August 2019. The movie is set in the same universe as X-men are in and some mutants will be introduced. The movie is inspired by a comic book of the same name and will star Anya Taylor Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Hearton and Alicia Barga.

Shazam!

DC is coming up with another superhero movie after Aquaman and its Shazam! The movie will be helmed by David F.Sandberg and will see Zachary Levi in the title role. Asher Angel’s Billy Batson is said to be the alter ego of Shazam. He basically becomes a superhero every time he shouts out the name of the wizard who gave him superpowers. With a trailer release, fans have decoded a lighter side to this superhero, unlike other DCU heroes. The character Doctor Sivana will be the villain and will be played by Mark Strong. The film is slated for an April 5, 2019 release.

Captain Marvel

We all know that leaving a movie hall right after a Marvel movie is a bad idea and waiting for post-credits surprises are a thing. With Avengers: Infinity War we were teased with the arrival of Marvel’s next woman superhero, i.e. Captain Marvel. Its been close to a year since the announcement of the project and Brie Larson to play the Captain herself. With a release date of March 6, 2019, we will see a full-fledged woman superhero by Marvel once again. The movie is set to trace the origin of the hero and will go back to the 90s.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix

It is close to two years since X-Men: Apocalypse hit the screens and the next one is around the corner. X:Men: Dark Phoenix is slated for a Feb 14, 2019, and the complete focus on Jean Gray. The story will travel back to the 90s and will feature a lot of other mutants.

Aquaman

The last DCEU movie to have hit the screens was the Justice League in November 2017 and we all know that Aquaman is the next to release.
