Whenever we think of celebrities or rich people, we think of “How do they spend their money?” With everything being online, we can see people flaunting their purchases on social media platforms. However, there are times when they do not upload it anywhere. Redditor u/NeighborhoodTrolley asked people who catered to the super-rich and what all they had experienced. The answers were amazing. Check them out!

1. Saudi Prince who bought 16 Jaguars in different colors

Redditor u/luther_williams recalls that a Saudi Prince wanted to buy a new Jaguar. For that, they spent the whole day discussing the vehicle. The cost was somewhere around $125k per vehicle. But the Prince couldn’t figure out which color he wanted to buy. At that time, the factory had 16 color options for that model. The next morning, Prince called and said he had figured out the solution to the problem and it was, “I’ll order one of each color.” Moreover, the cars were shipped not via sea, but air. So, this is how 16 colors of the same Jaguar model were air shipped to Saudi Arabia worth $2.5million.

2. A  user paid thousands just to flip a switch

Yes, you read it right. Redditor u/SteamKore did IT work for a little company. One fine day, he was called by a client in the afternoon because his new PC wasn’t working. After a 5-hour long road trip, he reached a huge mansion and thought the address wasn’t correct. However, he decided to move ahead, and luckily it was correct. On reaching the destination, he saw the client’s new PC’s only problem was- the switch was never turned on. The client paid him a $1400 base rate just to fix this problem. He also installed the graphic drivers but they were technically free. The best part was he was tipped $5000 cash as a tip because the client was too excited to play “League of Legends” on his new PC.

3. The entire interior of a Yacht was changed

Redditor u/tobias269 has been working for the rich for some time. The craziest thing he witnessed was a complete makeover of the interior of the yacht because the owner wasn’t impressed with it. The yacht was sent to Genoa, Italy where the interiors were ripped and upgraded. Bathrooms were completely changed- from sinks, showers, to lobbies-everything was changed. Basically, the whole yacht was re-branded. Another user Redditor u/Masterfull_Cackle tells how the owner did not like the marble in his Turkish bathroom and how they got it changed twice for like $150k. Well, now that’s some crazy spending!

4. Having their bedroom built above cow barn

I am a person who needs pin-drop silence to fall asleep. But Redditor u/weriup says the owner whom he cooked for, wanted to build a bedroom over the cow barn so that he could fall asleep. Confusing, right? Another user Redditor u/TargaryenHeir stated that “People used to have their bedrooms above cow barns as it was one of the few heat sources before electricity.” Now it makes sense.

5. Weird flying incidents

Redditor u/aticho says a woman who owned a small private jet business was once paid by a dog parent to fly their dog by itself to New York for about $45k for some training. No passengers, just the dog. Redditor u/xier_zhanmusi shares his friend works as a driver in an Arab family in Europe. Once their son forgot part of his polo kit. So he had it sent by flight from the Middle East to Europe by a private jet and the driver had to drive for 4 hours to collect and deliver it. Wow, now that’s some crazy money!

6. Buying expensive stuff to put the neighbors down

The art of
The art of “showing off”

We all have encountered people in life who live to show off and compete. Redditor u/Hunt3r8806 recalls one such incidence. He had a client living in NY in a colony where there were mostly people with “old money”. But his client was “new money”. They hated their neighbors but played sweetly in front of them. Whenever the neighbors bought anything, they would buy something expensive as compared to their purchase, or buy the same thing twice just to put them down. That’s what unhealthy competition makes you do.

7. Billionaire son received over 30 cakes on his birthday

Redditor u/circleinsidecircle worked in an Arab billionaire’s son. He was the type of guy who would spend $16k on a wallet and wear shoes that had gold on them. Once on his birthday, he received over 30 cakes. Imagine having so many cakes on your birthday. What a delight! However, he did not touch even a single cake and threw them all after 2 weeks of keeping them in his hallway.

8. Amazingly generous tips

Tipping
Tipping

Tipping is our way of showing love and appreciation for the person who’s giving us their valuable services. However, some tip amazingly generously. Redditor u/TexasFordTough tells his old high school teacher is a successful tutor and works in a wealthy neighborhood. The tutor recalls once he was helping a student clear his Physics exam for which he was paid the tuition fees and an extra $1000 by the father. Another user Redditor u/h*s7name used to deliver pizza to a big house every Sunday and was tipped $100. One time he resisted, so the lady said the house insisted on tipping $100 to pizza delivery drivers. Now that’s some generosity.

9. Armor suits for cats and mice

Sounds weird, but it is true. Redditor u/papajerry69 used to be a housekeeper for some wealthy people in his city. The best thing he has seen he recalls is, “The wife of a game developer had custom suits of armor made for her cats. She had them displayed along with tiny suits of armor for mice.” Redditor u/payattention007 commented, “This is exactly the sort of nonsensical sh*t that a very wealthy person should be doing.” Do you agree?
