A substitute version of Thanos demolishing Captain America’s shield is disclosed thanks to newly evolving concept art for Avengers: Endgame. post their fatal loss to the Mad Titan in Avengers: Infinity War, the MCU heroes had another blow at him, and with an increased united front, they’re luckily able to pull it through. With the successful Time Heist mission, every single one who expired from the snap five years prior came back involving their allies, which gave them the boost required against Thanos and his minions. However, just before their return, the task to defeat the Mad Titan was solely on Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America.

The Mad Titan

The mad Titan proved competitive for Captain America.

The MCU’s prime three heroes were kept isolated from each other for the most of the Infinity War, so watching them ganging up was a treat for fans. However, it wasn’t an easy battle, with Thanos comparatively easily beating each one of them. At one point, the Mad Titan was even able to knock down Captain America’s shield, withering half of it using his battle-ax.

This moment would’ve been cool on the big screen, especially for Thanos, since he wouldn’t have required his battle-ax to demolish the especially indestructible vibranium shield. It would’ve fortified just how strong he is even without the help of the Infinity Stones, and that would’ve come at a perfect time considering that much of Endgame leading to that was focused on the heroes.

Steve Rogers and his legacy

His legacy continues as Captain America

Steve Rogers may no longer be a part of MCU, but his legacy as Captain America will carry on with Sam Wilson his personal choice to carry the iconic shield. Sam’s adventures as the next rebirth of the Star-Spangled Avenger will be documented in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is set after Avengers: Endgame.
