DCEU seems to be heading towards a major shakeup. A report earlier revealed that Henry Cavill will be hanging up his suit for good. This report came via The Hollywood Reporter revealing Cavill’s exit as Superman from the DCEU. However, Warner Bros. quickly released a statement on this saying, “While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged.”

The actor was reported to part his ways with the studio after negotiations between Cavill’s agency and Warner Bros. broke down over a cameo in the upcoming Shazam.

Even Ben Affleck is rumoured to leave his role as The Dark Knight for the upcoming Matt Reeves’ The Batman. However, we haven’t received any official confirmation from the studio over the departure of both the actors, but rumours around Affleck’s Batman shakeup have been around for some time.

It all began when Affleck stepped out of directing The Batman and the eventual arrival of Reeves to the studio. Over the months, we’ve heard that Reeves’ Batman will be based on a younger version of Batman, based on the Batman: Year One comics.

Even Forbes writer Mark Hughes tweeted about Affleck’s departure from the DCEU. Here’s what he said:

“He’s not Batman in this movie. As of now, there are no plans to involve Affleck, and the situation behind the scenes is that he’s been arranging his exit from the DCEU for months. I know fans hate to hear this, but it’s time to prepare yourselves for Batman without Affleck.”

When the writer was questioned if this was an official announcement, the writer said that he can’t make any official statements on Warner Bros’ behalf but he stressed hard on the fact that he could see it coming.

“I can’t ‘officially’ declare anything since I’m not at WB,” the writer continued. “But we’ve all known this was coming and have been saying it for months, it’s not really new. I ran an article on it a couple of months ago.”
