Ever since the release of Stranger Things season 4 volume 1 in May, there has been one song that has been constantly playing everywhere and that song is Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God) by Kate Bush. The 1985 song’s popularity as well as streams have escalated since it saved Max Mayfield from the clutches of the wicked villain Vecna.

Kate Bush permitted the Duffer Brothers to use her song since she is a fan of the show. Right after the series came out, the song became everyone’s instant favourite and claimed up the streaming charts. The song reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also broke several records for its iconic return to the charts in 2022. These include the longest time for a track to reach No 1 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart, oldest female artist to reach No 1 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart, and longest gap between No 1s on the UK’s Official Singles Chart.

With all of these records under her name, Kate Bush is surely happy. In a post on her official website, Kate said,

“Whoooo Hoooo everybody!  I just can’t believe it  –  No. 1 for the third week. We’re all so excited!  In fact it’s all starting to feel a bit surreal.”

She even praised the show’s volume 2 which just came out on Netflix and stated,

“I’ve just watched the last two episodes of Stranger Things and they’re just through the roof. No spoilers here, I promise.”

“I am in awe. They’ve made something really spectacular,” the singer continued.

Kate Bush warns fans of fake merchandise

In her post, the singer also warned fans about the fake merchandise and asked them to be wary of it.

“I want to let you know about the amount of unofficial merchandise that’s out there. I haven’t seen it myself but I keep getting reports that there’s a huge amount: T-shirts, etc –  some of which is very poor quality, some of which is pretty good and could be mistaken for being official. The only official merchandise is the already existing material that’s available through the official websites,” Kate Bush said.

Stranger Things Volume 2 is streaming now on Netflix.
