Amy Schumer has boldly been open to keeping her fans in the loop with her recent medical struggles over a span of years, now sharing that endometriosis has taken such a toll on her physical self, unfortunately, she’s said to have her uterus and appendix removed.
The comedian published some photos and videos on Saturday of herself in the hospital while speaking about the surgery. Schumer tells that doctors located 30 spots of endometriosis in her uterus, and there was a heavy amount of blood in it.

Schumer said on the post, “If you have really painful periods you may have #endometriosis.” The comment section of her post was flooded with well-wishers and those who related to her experience in the path of helping others in the future, facing the same issue. The 40-year-old also appreciated her doctors.Amy, who is blessed with a 2-year-old boy named Gene with husband Chris Fischer was open regarding her health issues in her pregnancy days in 2018. At a point, she had to postpone shows after she was admitted to the hospital.

Being candid about her fight against both endometriosis and adenomyosis, a similar health issue. She has also shared her tough pregnancy experience with her son, while she also suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum—or nausea and severe vomiting, and the trouble of sustaining through fertility treatments.

“So it’s the morning after my surgery for endometriosis and my uterus is out,” the star shared. “The doctor found 30 spots of endometriosis that he removed. He removed my appendix because the endometriosis had attacked it. There was a lot of blood in my uterus and I’m sore and I have some like, gas pains.”

And for most women, dealing with endometriosis can be devastating as it can lead to extremely painful menstrual periods.

The Comedian also shares that, “We did IVF, and IVF was really tough on me,” on NBC’s Sunday Today with Willie Geist in August 2020. “I don’t think I could ever do IVF again. And so I decided that I can’t be pregnant ever again. We thought about a surrogate, but I think we’re gonna hold off for right now.”
