One of the biggest rumours ahead of No Way Home’s release was whether the movie will feature Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire or not. However, this fan theory came true as fans got to see three Spider-Men in the film. While all Spider-Men were sent back to their universes, rumours suggest that this might not be the last time we see Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man.

One of the most iconic moments of No Way Home has to be the unison of three Spider-Men. Andrew Garfield took the role of Spider-Man at the time Marvel Cinematic Universe was rising. Andrew’s Spider-Man was slightly different from Tobey’s version of the superhero. Garfield appeared in two Spider-Man films and when the second movie failed to connect with Marvel fans, his time as Spider-Man came to a halt.

For a while, it wasn’t possible for him to return as Spider-Man again. However, this came true in No Way Home as Ned tries to find Tom Holland’s Spider-Man but instead opens a portal to Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man. He returns with the same excitement that he had in the past Spider-Man films. He even takes on Electro and Lizard, old villains that he had faced in the past.

Industry insiders Daniel Richtman recently tweeted that he has heard a rumour regarding the return of Garfield’s Spider-Man. This tweet was in reference to the initial claims made by Twitter users like “MyTimeToShineHello” which claims that Andrew will return as Spider-Man again. The initial tweet hinted that Andrew Garfield can return “for multiple projects” under the Sony/Marvel banner. Here’s the tweet:

Now that the multiverse has been cracked open, fans can expect more narratives built around it. We already know that Sony has plans to make another trilogy with Tom Holland and keeping this in mind, we can expect to see a few exciting bits taking place in the films. We saw a lot from Garfield’s character in No Way Home after he appeared through the portal in the film. He even gets justice done to him as he saves MJ while she falls from the Statue of Liberty.

Many Andrew Garfield fans were quite disappointed when his Spider-Man franchise got axed by Sony while a third film was already under development. Sony has also redeemed itself by adding the character in No Way Home.

The ending of No Way Home suggested that all three Spider-Men are now well aware of the multiverse. This leaves a massive chance for them to return to the MCU if another multiversal havoc takes place. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness will be the next Marvel film now and the first look at the movie suggests that it will have a lot of Multiversal elements involved in it.

So, when will Andrew Garfield return? Will he get his own solo outing in Spider-Man 3? Or will Sony try to incorporate him into the SPUMC to fight Morbius, Venom and Kraven the Hunter? Let us know in the comments below.
