Warning: This article contains spoilers to Ant-Man & The Wasp.

All Ant-Man fans expected more of Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet van Dyne than what they got to se. in Ant-Man & The Wasp. The majority of the film focussed on the mission of rescuing van Dyne out of the Quantum Realm. However, Pfeiffer herself appeared in only a couple scenes throughout the film.

Ant-Man & The Wasp director revealed in a recent interview that van Dyne’s disappearance will be explored more in the movie’s digital and home media release in a couple of months. Here’s what Reed told Empire:

“We wanted to maintain a little bit of mystery about Janet and what has transpired in the thirty years she’s been down there [in the Quantum Realm] and also the idea she talks about how she’s evolved while she’s down there. We only see a couple of examples of it.There’s a little bit more Janet on the Blu-Ray and DVD release. There will be one deleted scene with Hank and Janet down there, which we just couldn’t find a place for in the movie.”

But then why was something that looks important removed from the movie? Here’s what Reed had to say about this question:

“A big part of it to is that I had a big mandate on the first Ant-Man and this one that they be under two hours. To me, it’s a comedy and action film and I want these movies to be as lean and mean as possible.

Reed also revealed that Michelle Pfeiffer was always his choice for the role of Janet Van Dyne. Well, we really do hope to see more of her in the future.

Ant-Man & The Wasp is now running in theaters.
