And we are finally getting Carol Danvers in Avengers 4. With this, MCU is about to introduce their strongest character to date. After half the universe been wiped off by Thanos, Nick Fury calls out Captain Marvel to help. She is the strongest Avenger to date, but she is not the strongest. Just like other heroes, she has got some major weaknesses too, with which she can be easily defeated.
1. POWER STEALING
In the comics, Rogue wrecked Carol Danvers completely when she got in contact with her and stole her powers. She not only stole her powers but all her thoughts and feelings too. Captain Marvel is vulnerable to all those mutants who have the capability of power stealing.
2. MIND CONTROL
Captain Marvel may be able to absorb and dissipate energies but she is susceptible to mind controllers. If she has an encounter with Professor X, Mr. Sinister or even Jean Grey, all of them can easily destroy her. Carol Danvers has to figure out a strategy to overcome this weakness.
3. MEMORY LOSS
Remember the first point where we mentioned Rogue stealing her thoughts? This led to a memory loss for Captain Marvel and drove her completely crazy. Not only Rogue, but Scarlet Witch, Professor X, and Sinister too can play with her thoughts making her go crazy and all lunatic.
Combining memory loss and mind control, we get to know that Captain Marvel is quite prone to getting brainwashed. This is not just a weakness but a major threat too.
5. SPLIT PERSONALITIES
Carol Danvers and Captain Marvel are much like Bruce Banner and Hulk. They are completely split personalities. Carol Danvers has no idea what she does when she is Captain Marvel. This again makes her a threat to the people she cares for.
6. MAGIC AND MYSTIC ABILITIES
If brainwashing was not enough, here is something else that makes Captain Marvel vulnerable. Magic and Mystic Arts. Forget about others, Captain Marvel stands no chance against the Master of Mystic Arts and Scarlet Witch.
Captain Marvel is all about physical strength. She has got no control over her mental self. This makes her prone to possession. Telepaths could easily take possession of her mind and body and make her do whatever they want.
8. POWER DEPLETION
In one of the storylines, Captain Marvel went out to save the sun and exerted all her powers on it. When she returned home, it took her months to revive her true self.
Having suffered so much trouble mentally, Captain Marvel turned to alcohol when she was reviving her powers. This led to a mental breakdown and put her in trauma. However, Tony Stark realized this before it was too late and helped her gaining herself back.
