As revealed recently, a major Doctor Strange character may be returning for Avengers 4.

This revelation happened during a panel at the Austin Film Festival, which saw Marvel screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely alongside executive producer Michael Grillo. While talking about the filming for Avengers 4, Grillo accidentally spilt out the name of one member who hadn’t been confirmed previously: Tilda Swinton.

Avengers: Infinity War was a major task to pull off, especially when over 30 actors are present on the sets. The production for Avengers 4 was equally complex and Grillo also confirmed that Swinton’s role wouldn’t be a significant one. “When we got Tilda Swinton, she was just a 1-day availability,” said Grillo.

Tilda Swinton reprised The Ancient One, which was met with a lot of controversy in 2016’s Doctor Strange due to its race bending. She will be returning with other old MCU characters like Crossbones.

Swinton was just available for a single day of filming, so it’s so safe to assume that she won’t have a major part in the film. It’s also possible that we just get to see the character in a flashback scene, like that of Crossbones.

Avengers 4 will hit the theatres on May 3.
