An ultimate showdown between Iron Man and the mad Titan Thanos is unavoidable as this has been building up from the battle scene in Avenger’s climax in 2012. Tony Stark has been expecting a dreaded face-off with the powerful Thanos. This happened in the latter’s home planet Titan and Stark was surprised to know that Thanos recognized him. His name has reached way beyond the stars too.

This comes with co-director Joe Russo’s commentary as the supervillain recognizes Stark from him carrying a nuclear weapon into outer space. This was to destroy the forces that were invading New York in the 2012 Avengers movie. A Reddit user going by the name AVigz seems to have come up with a new theory that their face-to-face meeting in Titan may not even be the first one. Let’s try to decode and understand this one.

Avengers 4 will come with a time travel part mostly to avoid the depressing ending that came up in Infinity War, all thanks to Thanos’s ‘snap’ move. This was him massacring half of the universe’s population in a bid to save up for the other half that survives. Iron Man gets saved from Thanos as Doctor Strange agrees to pass on the Time Stone which Thanos needed to complete his infinity gauntlet. This was in spite of Strange’s promise to Stark that he would protect the stone at any costs. This would have been done in preparation of one final battle as Doctor Strange could vision millions of outcome to the battle. The hope is that he did this keeping the possibility of a battle open.

Some set photos are said to be doing the rounds which show an aged Scott Lang and Tony Stark which easily suggests time travel. This is only possible if the Time Stone is recovered. If all this turns out to be true, a possibility of Tony Stark questioning Thanos way before they came to blows is possible. This clearly explains the mad villain’s recognition of Iron Man.

Avengers 4 will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and will star Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldanha, Chris Pratt, Chadwick Boseman, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan and Josh Brolin. The movie is set to hit the screens in May 2019.
