After a decade of filmmaking and 20 films, fans can’t wait to see the final showdown between the Avengers and Thanos in next year’s Avengers 4. Many fans are hoping to see some returning faces, even if they haven’t been seen for a while.

New fan-theory hints at the return of Thor’s love interest, Jane Foster. The theory also gives off major references from previous Marvel films setting up her return.

In Thor The Dark World, Jane Foster refers to an Asguardian machine as a “Quantum Field Generator”. Could her rumored involvment in Avengers 4 have to do with the Quantum Realm? from r/FanTheories

The theory states that Thor: The Dark World did the initial set-up for the return of Jane Foster when Foster questions the Soul Forge of Asgard, comparing it to a Quantum Field Generator. She explains its purpose saying, ”

This might tie up with the events of Ant-Man & The Wasp which featured a lot of activity in the Quantum Realm, as in its post-credits scene we see Janet Van Dyne warning Scott Lang for the Time Vortexes in the Quantum realm.

This led to many fans assuming that time travel will play a major role in Avengers 4, along with leaked set photos that hint at the same. It’s still unknown if Foster survived Thanos’ snap but if she did, she would undoubtedly be a powerful ally in the Avengers’ endeavor to reverse the aftermath of Thanos’ snap.

This sounds really good, provided Natalie Portman is up for it! While she does have a busy schedule, it sounds like there’s still a possibility for her to be added to Avengers 4, if she’s hasn’t been added already.

Mark Ruffalo recently revealed on a podcast by The Marvelists that the ending of Avengers 4 hasn’t been locked down by the filmmakers yet.

“We’re not just doing reshoots, we’re going to finish the movie, which we really didn’t get to finish totally when we left it last year … I don’t even know that they really know exactly,” Ruffalo said. “Some of it is happening while we’re there. It’s pretty amazing. And we’ll shoot some stuff and a few days later come back and reshoot it cause we wanna take it in another direction. It’s a very living organism, even as we approach it being a locked picture, we’re still working on it.”

Avengers 4 will hit the theaters on May 3, 2019.
