It seems like another MCU character will be making its way back in next year’s Avengers, according to Michael Grillo.

Grillo was one of the panellists at the Austin Film Festival alongside screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus. Grillo shared his experience of filming Avengers 4, talking about one specific Doctor Strange character, the Ancient One (played by Tilda Swinton). He commented on the difficulty of filming and scheduling, and said that “Tilda was just available for one day”.

This revelation comes as a surprise, as the end of Doctor Strange saw the death of Ancient One. It’s still unclear if her appearance in Avengers 4 will be a flashback or Realm magic, possibly meeting Stephen Strange in the afterlife after he faded away from Thanos’ snap. For all we know, having the Ancient One in any scenario should make for an interesting sequence.

Frank Grillo’s Crossbones will be appearing in a flashback sequence in the film. Fans can’t wait to see how the heroes who died in Infinity War make a return in Avengers 4.

Avengers 4 will hit the theatres on May 3.
