At the time when Red Skull pops up in Avengers: Infinity War, it surprised many fans. With Avengers: Endgame on the move, it’s plausible that Marvel has a couple of surprises up their sleeves.
Ultron May Return To Avengers: Endgame
However, one fan believes that Endgame’s big cameo will come in the form of Ultron. Reddit user /u/mdv15 posted a theory in which he feels that Ultron will return to nod Marvel films of past years.
Here’s what the theory says:
Okay, so in the Super Bowl Spot for Endgame we all saw Ronin staring at something (or someone) that was giving off a red light. His facial expression doesn’t give the impression that it’s an ally, so I’m going to assume its either a foe or a bad object.
From certain leaks and what not that we’ve read up on, we can assume that Ronin is fighting with the Yakuza, following a lead he received off (or on) screen.
Maybe the Yakuza leader knows a thing or two about what happened.
But who could the Yakuza leader be? A new character to the MCU? The answer is no.
There are two characters that emit red light when their power is activated. Scarlett Witch and…
My theory is that after his family dusted & finding out that the Avengers are all over the place, Clint went on a manhunt to find as much information about what the hell is going on. In using his espionage skills he was able to uncover that there was someone fitting a familiar description leading or being protected by a merciless group of idividuals in Japan (Yakuza). As he fights & defeats the Yakuza members, Ronin faces the “leader” and its none other than Ultron.
Japan is a country with vast amount of technological capabilities… so to stay on the DL and far from the Avengers, Ultron goes to Japan and takes advantage of their technologies for his own gain.
We saw an Ultron head in SM:HC with the eyes glowing which implies that Ultron’s concious is still very much alive.
Ultron’s body and eyes emit red light
We saw Red Skull, so why not Ultron? Maybe in a different form?
There isn’t any concrete evidence if the Tony Stark-created villain will come back. However, the theorist thinks that Clint Barton will be crossing paths with Ultron. In fact, he says that Ultron is the one Barton confronts in the red-flooded scene that came in Avengers: Endgame Super Bowl spot.
The red light could mean a lot of things. It’d be risky for Marvel to put such a revealing shot in a TV spot. Then again, the studio may have included the shot since no one has seen it coming.
When it comes to someone like Ultron, it was pretty apparent that the Avengers would never rid the world of character fully. We even saw a severed head of an Ultron drone in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Avengers: Endgame will hit the theatres on April 26.
