Disclaimer: This contains major spoilers for Batman #49, which is in stores now.

Okay, here’s how it goes. Batman is getting married and Joker isn’t happy about it (or jealous, who knows) though the exact reason behind his hadn’t been yet revealed until Batman #49. Joker defeated the Batman and faces Catwoman just to ‘save’ Batman from a blissfully monogamous life. The two end up taking each other down and obviously, both end up reminiscing the old days.

While they fight a bloody battle, they talk about various topics regarding Batman, villainy and Gotham City. It’s starts off normally with talks about Penguin’s use of an umbrella, how Two-Face was nothing but a linchpin of the Batman Rogues and of course, The riddler.

However things get tensed when they start to understand what exactly they’ve been trying to achieve all these years and exactly what they share with Batman.

When both reveal their cards out, we know that this is the final Joker story ever told and this is exactly where truths are revealed and the Joker’s endgame comes into the play. It seems like there’s no going back from here.
