The latest poster of Spider-Man: No Way Home has arrived, thanks to Sony Pictures, Japan and has given the best look yet at Willem Dafoe’s new Green Goblin costume. The previous marketing had the character in a bit tweaked version of the suit from the Sam Raimi film. The latest costume, however, showcases him without a hood, menacing towards Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Green Goblin also looks like centering towards the center of these posters, which is like a running theme in the images given to fans by Sony. Lizard also makes his first appearance in the poster and whole Doc Ock’s arms were widespread in the first one, this poster doesn’t have him in the spotlight. Electro also gets some space which makes some fans curious who wonder if these posters are representing the variant universes housing all Peter Parkers? While it’s easy to say anything at this point, speculations have already started to kick in by fans who can’t wait for the film to release.

It wasn’t easy to keep Green Goblin a secret

Tom Holland
Tom Holland

While appearing in a fan event recently, Holland went on to reveal how the crew and director tried their best to keep Green Goblin a secret from the eagle-eyed fans. Well, in this case, it’s safe to assume that low-tech solutions mostly end up being the best.

“It’s actually a funny story when I met Willem for the first time. Obviously, at that time, all of the villains in the film, it was a huge secret that they were in the film. So they would walk around set with these cloaks on. Naturally, these guys were very excited to be coming back and bringing these roles back to life,” Holland explained. “I just sort of bumped into this guy in a cloak. I was like, ‘Watch out, mate.’ He took his cloak off, and I almost got really scared — Oh shit, the Goblin’s here.”

However, there are many fans still looking for Tobey or Andrew’s Spider-Man or any hint remotely related to them. As per MCU’s Spider-Man, the two aren’t in the film and one should just take his word for this.

While talking to Total Film, Holland revealed that people don’t believe him when he tells them that Garfield and Maguire aren’t there in the film, however, adding that they’ll have to believe him at some point.

“It means a lot to me. The first time you see Doc and the rest of the characters that come back, it’s so exciting – and it’s such a huge moment in cinematic history. It’s three generations coming together.”
