The MCU is headquarters to quite a few stars in Hollywood. Featuring blockbuster hits like The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, there have been plenty of big names to flock to the franchise. Some characters are later involved with other films as well. But since we’re only judging based on their individual performance, you won’t see any mentions from the likes of Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan. That being said, these are the 5 best MCU characters to just appear in a single movie –

Quicksilver

Pietro Maximoff has certainly made quite the impact since his introduction back in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. He and his twin sister, Wanda, were introduced to be major players going forward after serving as antagonists towards Hawkeye throughout the first act of this sequel. While there were some fans disappointed by this version not being tied more closely into Marvel Comics, most admitted to being happy about how well Aaron Taylor-Johnson portrayed this character.

Mysterio

Assembling a team of villains in the Spider-Man universe must be tough. Jon Watts and his team did an excellent job with one villain in particular – Quentin Beck. The character is inspired by Orson Welles’s performance as Charles Foster Kane in Citizen Kane. He used humility to make people think he was a hero while trying to enact revenge on Tony Stark after he failed to hire him at Stark Industries.

Vulture

Unlike his MCU counterpart, Adrian Toomes is not an original character in the world of Marvel. He was actually part of Spider-Man’s comic book lore since 1963. The similarities between him and the Vulture from the movie are striking albeit their motives as well. Adrian Toomes did not have a direct association with Tony Stark but like his cinematic counterpart, he was a victim of Stark’s corporate greed in terms of his livelihood.

Green Goblin

The multiverse is a pretty big concept in the Marvel Comics universe and it’s been around for ages. Many MCU fans were excited with the prospect of seeing characters from all over the multiverse appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, one villain, in particular, stood out above the rest: Norman Osborn. He was known to most audiences as The Green Goblin. Originally appearing as a villain to Peter Parker, he decided to cross over into Miles Morales’ world. There, he starts killing people left and right with his Goblin juice.

Yelena Belova

Marvel’s Black Widow saw the introduction of Yelena Belova. The character became loved for her personality in the comics after being trained by the same people as Natasha Romanoff. However, she has never been given her own film or series despite fans calling for it. Despite this huge oversight, we can enjoy seeing her again in Marvel’s Hawkeye which does well to showcase more about her backstory and background as one of the best heroes not really given due time to shine.
