After nearly waiting for three and a half years, fans finally got Sheldon and Amy’s first kiss in season 7. Although the scene is considered one of the iconic moments in the show’s history, the actors knew the struggle they went through while filming the scene. The 49-year-old actor revealed of being ill while filming the kiss scene. He said,

“I was sick with something, like a bad respiratory cold. And it was ironic because I always took care of myself, and here I am sick during one of the very rare times I have to kiss her. And kiss her several times because I knew we’d have to do several takes. I was like, This is unbelievable! I felt bad about it, I really did.”

Jim Parsons was worried about his co-star who might catch his illness. He admitted of Bialik handled the situation smoothly and was not the person to worry about. The actor said that the 47-year-old gargled every time they shot a scene to avoid his germs.

Mayim Bialik brought Hydrogen peroxide to avoid falling sick during filming the kiss scene

Mayim Bialik knew the situation of her co-star and handled the situation with class. She had an idea of what this scene meant for the fans. They were rooting for this for a long time. While filming the kiss scene, Parsons was battling through an illness, and to avoid catching that, the actress brought Hydrogen peroxide. She gargles with that after every take. She remembered,

“The man was visibly sweating and feverish, so I rinsed with peroxide in between every kiss, every scene, every take, so that I wouldn’t get sick. It’s such a great scene, and it turned out so great, but it was a really hard night.”

The scene is one of the most iconic in the show, and the actors gave their best to make it as it is. The author admitted to giving multiple takes to make this one scene work and had a very long evening shoot. The actress avoided falling sick with her tactics.
