Robert Reynolds was introduced in The Sentry #1 in 2000. He was originally promoted by Marvel as a newly “re-discovered” creation from earlier in the publisher’s history. Tying in the character’s real world conception along with its in-universe explanation, Sentry was one of the world’s greatest heroes. But his memory and history was lost in the shuffle of reality.

But The Sentry had a darker side as well. In the ensuing years, Sentry’s mental stabiity proved to be a source of conflict. He struggled against an alternate personality called The Void who threatened to destroy the world. Eventually The Void won but in the 2010 event called Seige, Thor killed him and cremated his body in the sun.

In the years, Sentry has struggled with his Void personality but ultimately both sides of him have merged. This made the character retreat into the depths of space. But now he is back again and troubling small town Oklahoma. He seems to have succumbed again to become The Void. But the Agents of Wakanda lack the raw power necessary to deal with him. So it’s difficult to predict what will happen next.
