This new trend began in 2013 when Richard Branson announced him selling seats for a space flight that would take passengers to the edge of outer space. Ticket prices quickly jumped to $200,000 which gained the interest of actors, musicians, and billionaires alike. With that being said, here’s a list of 5 celebs who have been (or are about to be) astronauts –

Celeb Astronauts: Pete Davidson (About To Be)

Soon, comedian Pete Davidson will head towards the space. Davidson is going to participate in Blue Origin’s 20th mission. It will be presented by Blue Origin’s foundation Club for the Future and their Postcards to the Space program. Davidson will carry a postcard along with his fellow passengers and the organization’s mission is to inspire future generations to pursue STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) fields of study which benefit environment protection.

The GMA anchor embarked on the mission of a lifetime in December 2021, taking off from Blue Origin and becoming the first anchorman to leave Earth’s atmosphere. Strahan revealed a list of sentimental items he was taking into space ahead of his launch. He exclaimed (to Bezos after touching the ground) that it was something beyond explanation and he wants to go back.

Back in July 2021, he took one small step for man and one giant leap with the first successful flight of a reusable unmanned rocket (New Shepard) carrying humans into the stratosphere. Later, after returning from the space, Bezos exclaimed that it was the best day of his life.
