Fans are preparing for the end to an era in the MCU, as the upcoming Avengers 4 is set to bring an end to Chris Evans’ journey as Captain America.

A couple of days back, Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. took to Twitter with a funny image comparing Iron Man and Captain America with Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story. Now, Evans has responded to the tweet with an adorable message that reads, “This guy.. ”

Evans tweeted last week what many fans believe to be a farewell to the MCU, thanking everyone for their support in his journey that began in 2011.

“Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful,” Evans wrote on Twitter.

Evans hasn’t held himself back in talking about his role in the MCU being over, as the actor spoke frankly about his tenure during the Good Morning America before the premiere of Infinity War.

“You want to get off the train before they push you off … I used to have thoughts of wanting to climb to the top of something, or wanting to be somebody,” Evans said. “But when you get the thing that you think you want and then you wake up and realize that you still have pockets of sadness and that your struggle will reinvent itself, you stop chasing after those things and it is liberating, because you realize that right here, right now, is exactly all I need.”

Evans even talked about his future after MCU during a profile with the New York Times.
