According to a Wall Street Journal report, Elon Musk’s Austin residence is a waterfront estate that was formerly the most costly in the city. The property is believed to be of a billionaire acquaintance of the CEO of Tesla. After Elon Musk claimed for a while that he lives in a “tiny home” in Boca Chica, Texas, news of the house near Mount Bonnell surfaced. According to the report, Ken Howery, a co-founder of PayPal, is the friend lending the SpaceX founder his house.

The mansion is presently valued at $18 million on the market, according to Zillow. The WSJ article states that the interior of the house is 8,000 square feet. It has a private boat slip, a beachfront pool, and a jacuzzi. The “Watersedge,” development features several gated entrances as well as a guardhouse. The residence is also rumored to be the home of Elon Musk’s ex, Grimes.

The former partner of the CEO of Tesla recently asked her followers to sign a petition against soaring house prices in Texas. “My fellow Texans! Petitions can feel useless but I guarantee local politicians are taking these seriously,” the Genesis singer tweeted on Monday. “Plz sign to reduce housing costs in Austin. There’s effective legislation on the table here but we need public support.” she continued.

Nevertheless, some fans attacked her for petitioning for something they felt didn’t directly effect her. Despite the singer’s good intentions, one Twitter user commented, “Grimes you are set, your opinion on ‘the housing market’ is invalid.” The singer responded to the comment by stating “First of all I couldn’t afford to buy a house that fits my kids in Austin atm without help from their dad which is INSANE cuz I’m a p[retty] successful artist. Secondly, these aren’t my opinions, I’ve just agreed to help out some actual experts/ policy makers.”

That’s what I’m meaning, their dad will help and get it done. You’re set,” the critic reiterated. Fans commented that the singer’s opinions are invalid since she herself does not have to deal with such issues. She was also called hypocritical for petitioning the rising house price while allegedly sitting comfortably in her $18 million worth home.
