Drama about stalkers on Netflix, You is perhaps one of the most psychologically complicated television programs now airing, mostly due to the fact that it compels us to consider one very ominous question: What happens when you find a frightening killer to be quite attractive?

Yes, it’s true that the former Lifetime series scored a major coup in casting when it chose Penn Badgley from Gossip Girl for the title part of Joe Goldberg, an obsessive serial killer who relentlessly hunts the women he develops affections on.

Recently, Penn Badgley shared his least favorite You filming moments.

You has so many diverse features that everybody, regardless of whether they prefer thrillers, dramas, romances, or crime stories, can enjoy. And certainly, the series that always surprises us is confirmed for another season.

The fourth season of the show was renewed by Netflix two days before the start of Season 3. This season, Joe, who changed his identity to Nick, will be seen settling down in London and getting back to his old shenanigans.

The precise day has not yet been determined. However, there are hints that Season 4 is on the way. You‘s official account announced on March 22 that “YOU Season 4 is now in production” in a photo of a clapperboard with numbers on it. We observed Penn Badgley filming You with Charlotte Ritchie on the London set on July 11. Additionally, the week prior, Penn was seen working on the set and talking with his coworkers.

The series’ lead, Badgley, 35, plays Joe Goldberg, who frequently enjoys himself while daydreaming about the most recent impediment to his homicidal preoccupation.

I’ve now done it so many times on camera. It’s strange — you don’t think it’s going to be that big of a deal. And then you discover in front of a crew of people with a camera on your face, knowing that, in all likelihood, millions of people are going to see this, you’re simulating masturbation,” the actor told Stitcher’s Podcrushed on Wednesday.

I have to say sometimes those scenes are harder than with a person because it’s just like, alright, this is what I’m doing. I’ve always gotten the note to make it less creepy.

They say like, ‘Close your eyes or go faster or go slower.’ I’m like, ‘What? This man is f—ing murdering people, and he’s masturbating in the street. You’re saying I’m making it creepy? How is it I’m the one making it creepy?’

Even though the character that Penn Badgley plays is creepy enough, the directors still couldn’t handle his self-pleasuring scenes. “He was like, ‘Buddy, I think you gotta close your eyes.’

At least the actor feels that this has been a learning curve in his career as he states: “To be honest, I don’t enjoy nearly everything about him. However, it ends up being a deep, deep psychological exploration for me. And it seems to bear fruit.

There’s a lot about him that I struggle with and yet I’m always trying to humanize him as much as possible.

The issue here is that Penn Badgley is a very seductive man in real life. So much so that a lot of You‘s followers have started to develop the bad habit of crushing on Joe, the murderer, as a result.

Everything is really complicated, especially for the actor who has battled to play a perilous, abhorrent person while yet being a complete TV hunk. When the news of Penn Badgley being instructed to make his self-pleasuring scenes less creepy, fans took to Twitter to defend the actor:
