“Momo suicide challenge” is one of those idiotic online challenges that has infected the world of Minecraft. This happened until Microsoft decided to lay down open.

For those who don’t know about this challenge, it’s a challenge that began on WhatsApp in Japan. A video by a Youtuber has been released to warn people about the game and how it preys on the week. A 12-year old’s suicide was earlier linked to this Internet challenge.

The challenge encourages participants to hurt themselves physically and while the investigation of the 12-year old’s tragic death is ongoing, Microsoft has decide to take the necessary steps to keep this out of their game.

This challenge came in the form of a mod that looked like “Momo” who chases down other minecraft players. The character could also be seen holding a phone with a WhatsApp logo on it. The mod was even called sick by Microsoft earilier in a statement to Fox News. He even said that it was developed by a third party and doesn’t align with their values and it’s NOT a part of the official Minecraft game.

The parents are already being urged to be aware of the dangerous online challenge. WhatsApp even came into the scenario saying that any user who faces problematic messages should block the user immediately and report the matter to them so that they can take any action.
