Dazzlers screenplay was quite brief in the movie ‘The dark Phoenix’. The movie’s writer and director  Simon Kinberg explained why “I didn’t want to get into too many other characters. In the prior  ‘Dark Phoenix Saga,’ you have the Hellfire Club, you have Lilandra and the Shi’ar. There are a lot of other storylines to service and I wanted to boil the movie down to the higher emotions and then throw in a few cameos. I’m just a huge Dazzler fan from the comics and there was an opportunity in the scene that she’s in for someone to be singing at a party and it was like, yeah of course?”

Dazzler possessed the superpower to transform soundwaves into convergent light and energy beams. And before actually being a part of the X-men team Dazzler uses her powers to create a unique and never seen before the light show in one of her performances. Tom DeFalco and John Romita Jr. were the main creators of the Dazzlers as a major part of the cross-promotional partnership between Casablanca Records and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The main plan was for her to be a multi-media character that would be played in the Marvel Cinematic Universe being played by Bo Derek in a feature film. Though the plan didn’t become a success it became her own comic-book series of 42 issues launched between  1981 and 1985. The series finally got its existence from an original graphic novel and later she headed the miniseries Beauty and the Beast with Beast before having a significant role in the X-Men series.
