Disney to use James Gunn’s Script For Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
This report again came via The Hollywood Reporter which says that Disney has reportedly decided to use Gunn’s script for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3.
Although James Gunn was fired on July 20 by Disney after the unearthing of his offensive tweets on Twitter regarding rape and pedophilia, Disney has now decided to go on with his original script for Vol. 3.
The report also states that Gunn is currently undergoing complex negotiations with the company over his exit settlement. According to Hollywood Reporter, the negotiations are currently being affected by the company’s decision to move ahead with Gunn’s script for the third installement.
The sources also reveal that during the time of firing, Gunn was under a contract for GOTG Vol. 3, he was not working under a “pay or play” agreement, which would have required Disney to pay him his full fees irrespective of whether or not his services were employed. It’s estimated that Gunn could even receive a mammoth payout of $7 million to $10 million from Disney.
The film will begin its production stage next year and with a speculated release in 2020.
