The sequel to Disney’s Maleficent has wrapped its production as announced by Director Joachim Ronning on Instagram. “That’s a wrap on Maleficent 2- and what a ride it’s been,” wrote Ronning in his Instagram post.

The post shows Ronning accompanied by his cast and crew, thanking his “amazing” United Kingdom crew from Pinewood Studios. Disney has earlier shot at Pinewood for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Infinity War and Age of Ultron. The film will see the return of Angelina Jolie in the titular role along with Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora, Harris Dickinson as Prince Phillip.

The film will also see a few newcomers like Ed Skrein, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michelle Pfeiffer. The plot of the sequel is yet to be known but we believe that the story will continue from where the first part ended. Maleficent (20live-action more than $758 million dollars worldwide. The film will be yet another feather in the era of Disney live action re-imaginings. Earlier, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast have all been really successful in the box office.

Maleficent 2 is scheduled to release on May 20, 2020.
