Thanks to Kevin Feige, we now have more news about Marvel’s next venture into Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Display Play. When asked about how the Fox/Disney merger deal would affect the studio, Feige instead veered the conversation back to streaming and potential stories in that medium.

“But Paul mentioned the streaming service, and I think that is something that we’re going to be adding content to, which is exciting. I love your analogy with the campfire, right? As many people as you can get around the campfire and tell stories. Campfires can be different: We are going to tell stories for the streaming service that we wouldn’t be able to tell in a theatrical experience — a longer-form narrative, that’s what comics are, it’s about as longform a narrative as exists. But also maintaining that theatrical experience, which is our bread and butter, and the lines around the block, if you’re lucky.”

Recent rumours hint at shows under development on characters like Bucky Barnes, Scarlet Witch, Sam Wilson, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop and Loki.

This might also influence the films later on, such as Kate Bishop appearing in Young Avengers later or Wanda and Vision having their kids from the comics, Speed and Wiccan.

Whatever Feige has in store, we hope that it will be as grand as the films.
