The most recent trailer for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness gave us a huge shock in the appearance of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in the movie, as shown in a scene in the trailer. If this is the case, then the film also opens the door to other known Fox characters from the X-Men series to appear alongside him.

Professor X could be the only Fox character from the X-Men franchise to debut in the MCU, but there are certain aspects in the upcoming film, particularly with the Scarlet Witch, that hint this might not be the best case. The new film could be the main link to introduce mutants to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and integrate the X-Men, in the same way, No Way Home did other Spider-Man franchises. Here are some Fox characters who might appear in Doctor Strange 2:

Deadpool

Deadpool from Fox's X-Men Universe
Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool might not be the best choice for a return in Doctor Strange 2

Deadpool makes a lot of sense than any character from the X-Men franchise to appear in the MCU. Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking persona allows him, as a character, to fit into any situation he finds himself in.

While it can still be expected by fans, Deadpool‘s tonality might just preclude him from being in the film. A cameo isn’t out yet, but given how serious the stakes seem to be in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, this doesn’t look like much of a possibility.

Storm

Can Storm make her MCU debut in Doctor Strange 2?

Storm doesn’t really have a decent reason to be in the film, but as one of the biggest characters in the X-Men movies and the comics, she’s certainly a possibility. She’s certainly on the cards if any one of the Illuminati Council happens to be a Black Panther variant.

Storm and Black Panther married in the early 2000s and had one of the best relationships in the Avengers comics, and it’s a possibility that a multiversal version of the duo is somehow connected to the Illuminati in a way.

Quicksilver

Evan Peter’s Quicksilver might be the most likely X-Men to appear

Marvel fans were somewhat disappointed when Evan Peters’ Quicksilver made an appearance in WandaVision, but it was Ralph Boner and not Peters’ version of Quicksilver from the X-Men movies as they had anticipated. However, he is very likely to make an appearance in the new film, thanks to Wanda.

Wanda’s storyline could possibly lead her to a reckoning with other versions of her from the multiverse and some that are deeply rooted in her dark comic book past, where she is Quicksilver’s sister and Magneto’s daughter.

Magneto

Ian McKellen's Magneto might also appear in MCU
Can MCU adopt the House of M storyline somehow?

The family history of Scarlet Witch has been retconned a few times in the pages of Marvel comics. This took place recently, thanks to rights issues between Disney and Fox over the X-Men. Those restrictions do not exist anymore, opening the door to the MCU Wanda to be the daughter of Fox’s X-Men, Magneto.

Ian McKellen could also appear in the film alongside Patrick Stewart, allowing the MCU’s Scarlet Witch to discover that her history is actually different, or maybe inspire her to change it in the Marvel Universe in some version of the House of M storyline.

Wolverine

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in MCU
Fans have long-wanted Hugh Jackman to appear as Wolverine in MCU

The X-Men character who is most likely to debut in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman. Fans have desired Jackman in the MCU for a long time now and with Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in the game, there’s no reason that Jackman won’t return.

While this might not be what fans expect, Hugh Jackman has long stated that he has retired from the role after Logan. However, it could be the moment every Marvel fan has been long-waiting forever since the inception of the MCU, and a perfect nod to Jackman’s Wolverine in the films.
