What must come as a surprise for many Marvel fans – Marvel Studios stacked in the teaser trailer for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness after the end-credits roll out for Spider-Man: No Way Home. The third Spider-Man film, set in the MCU, deals with the multiverse, serving as a springboard into the highly anticipated sequel to Doctor Strange. It’s the same multiversal shenanigans that confirmed the follow-up will also be crossing over Marvel Studios’ What If…? series.

Doctor Strange Might Turn Villainous In Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

Throughout the trailer, Doctor Strange is painted as the villain of his own movie, thanks to some tampering in the multiverse. Moving to the end of the footage, we come across a version of Doctor Strange that appears like a villainous take on the character. Going by what we saw in Marvel’s What If…?, it seems that MCU’s Strange might come toe-to-toe with Strange Supreme, which we saw in What If…?

“Defender Strange” Might Also Appear In The Film

However, this isn’t the only version of the character. Previously this week, Hasbro revealed it new wave of Marvel action figures for the Doctor Strange film, revealing that “Defender Strange” might also appear in the film, in some way or the other.

Interestingly, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness recently wrapped its reshoots, which according to Marvel boss Kevin Feige, is an important part of the process.

“Reshoots are key to our films, starting with Iron Man. We always say we’re smart filmmakers at Marvel, but we’re not geniuses and the best way to give notes on a movie is to watch the movie,” Feige said in 2019. “So we make the movie and go, ‘Oh yeah, no that’s not right. That doesn’t work,” and have a system now that can be quite precise and efficient. [Reshoots last] sometimes one day, sometimes fifteen days, sometimes more to continue to go in and make the move the best it can be.”

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness will release on May 6, 2022.
