Olivia Wilde’s directorial Don’t Worry Darling continues to be in the limelight due to the recent alleged incident that happened with Chris Pine. While the movie is getting involved in all sorts of controversies involving its cast and director, another alleged incident between co-stars Harry Styles and Chris Pine made headlines during the movie premiere at Venice Film Festival where the former allegedly spit onto the latter. Pine’s reaction captured in the viral video convinced the fans that the incident could have happened, who started trending it as ‘spitgate’. Though that has already been decoded by both the involved parties, Simon Cowell has shared his opinions on the same.

English TV star Simon Cowell is popularly known for judging TV talent competition series on shows like Pop Idol and its American spin-off, American Idol. He was also one of the people who formed the One Direction band on The X Factor in 2010, which Harry Styles was a part of.

He recently made an appearance on this week’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! and defended the One Direction alum after he was allegedly accused of spitting on his co-star. He stated, “That doesn’t sound like Harry,” defending the star, he shared, “He definitely, definitely wouldn’t do that. That’s not Harry. Harry’s very polite and charming, he wouldn’t do that. … I will tell you, he’s a very, very, very nice guy.”

The host Kimmell shared his theory that Styles might have “accidentally” spat on the actor, to which the TV star stated,  “I was thinking that we all do that. You know when you gob on someone by accident, and you’re like, ‘I’m really sorry I did that.'” However, he also pointed out that the 28-year-old star would never do that intentionally.

The alleged feud between  Don’t Worry Darling co-stars started surfacing when Styles during the premiere allegedly spat on his co-star Chris Pine, which immediately took the media’s attention amidst the ongoing feud between Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh. Though the alleged situation was not captured on camera, many fans were convinced about its possibilities due to Pine’s reaction captured in the video.

However, Pine’s rep has already clarified the alleged incident stating, “This is a ridiculous story — a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation.”

Even Styles during one of his concerts addressed the scenario stating, “I just popped over to Venice to spit on Chris Pine, but fear not, we’re back!” With his statement, he wanted people to show that the alleged feud between the stars is just baseless speculation.

Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling is set to release this September 23 in the United States.
