While working on the movie, Tom Felton recalled that 9-year-old Emma Watson had put together a little dance show in her dressing room that she wanted to present to everyone at lunchtime. He then revealed that he and Josh Herdman made fun of her performance. He recalled,

We were just being shitty boys, largely out of awkwardness and because we thought taking the piss was cool, but Emma was visibly upset by our thoughtless reaction. I did feel like a bit of a dick, and rightly so.

He further explained that he apologized to her and everybody moved on.

People on social media trolled the actor for still apologizing for something that happened over a decade ago. A lot of people said Tom Felton is just trying to be relevant by revealing more from his Harry Potter days.

Emma Watson and Tom Felton played the roles of Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy respectively. The actor revealed in his memoir that during the early stages, there was a division in the cast. The main cast, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, used to hang out together while Felton used to hang out with his fellow Slytherins, Jamie Waylett and Josh Herdman.

Tom Felton explained that 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was Emma Watson’s first time on a film set and with her being the only female lead, she went through a lot of criticism at the time as the spotlight was on her. Felton said,

“The pressures she experienced went further than just having to deal with stupid boys. Emma was never afforded a normal childhood. She was in many ways treated like an adult from the day she was cast. It’s a phenomenon that can, I think, be more difficult for girls than for boys. They are unfairly sexualized in the media and beyond.”

Emma Watson has also admitted in the past that she had a crush on the actor while filming the movies. He played the role of Draco Malfoy in nine Harry Potter films from 2001 to 2011.
