Eternals Star Talks About His Weight Loss Concern For The Marvel Movie
Eternals star Brian Tyree Henry, who plays Phastos recalls his weight loss concern when he was first approached for the movie. Marvel is moving ahead and really quickly as well. 2021 has given us three Disney+ series and movies. Eternals is the latest addition to the long list of releases. The movie in itself is bound to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever, but it also comes with a star cast. Marvel Star Brian Tyree Henry Talks About His Weight Loss Concern For Eternals
In his recent interview with Variety, Henry talked about his character and spoke well of director Chloé Zhao. He plays Phastos in the movie, and he has been on Earth for over 7,000 years. His character is very strong and when he was first approached for the role, he right away asked about the pounds he would have to lose. However, Zhao said, “What are you talking about? We want you exactly as you are.” In the interview, Henry said:
“To be a Black man, to have someone look at you and say, ‘We want you exactly the way you are,’ is unlike anything that I’ve ever felt. It just triggered me to be an 11-year-old kid who is watching these superhero movies, and not ever seeing anyone like me reflected. And how I would take these posters and put them in my locker, and just hope that one day there will be somebody representing me, in the way you know that I am. And I truly believe that that moment started when I sat down with Chloé. It’s unlike any feeling I’ve ever experienced.”
Previously. Zhao even mentioned that Henry came up with all the hand gestures which made his character superior in many ways. Moreover, Henry and Haaz Sleiman are the first gay outing for Marvel and it all worked out well according to Zhao. She said that she left this one responsibility on Henry and Sleiman to bring out the authenticity. Eternals opens in theaters on Nov. 5.
