The year 2022 is going to be jam-packed with superhero shows from both DC and Marvel. With that said, this particular genre highlights no sign of slowing down anyway. While the year 2020 went somewhat mild due to the global pandemic, the year 2021 took the superhero fare to the next level. It received the boost especially with the MCU’s expansion-oriented TV shows like Loki and WandaVision. On the other hand, HBO Max also managed to position itself as the new destination for all the DCEU projects. Now that both DC and Marvel are thriving to release new hits regularly, here is the list of some upcoming superhero shows ranked as per their popularity –

Ms. Marvel

This Pakistani-American teenager got an opportunity to play Ms. Marvel first in 2013. With that said, the makers have now announced that Kamala Khan will be going to land the franchise as Ms. Marvel for an upcoming show before appearing in future movies. And it will be Iman Vellani who will be portraying Kamala Khan for the Marvel Studios. The actress will be accompanied by Saagar Shaikh, Matt Lintz, Aramis Knight, Rish Shah, Mohan Kapur, and Zenobia Shroff in supporting roles.

Pacemaker

It will be James Gunn who’s going to direct and write Pacemaker and John Cena who is going to play the titular role in the show. Cena also portrayed the superhero in The Suicide Squad. With that said, the makers revealed that many other characters from The Suicide Squad will be going to appear in the show; for example, Jennifer Holland’s Emilia Harcourt and Steve Agee’s John Economos. Pacemaker is all set for getting premier on January 13, 2022, with some other characters such as Judomaster, Auggie Smith, and Vigilante. With many other HBO Max shows, it is also going to be an eight-episode season.

She-Hulk

Next, it is Jennifer Walters who is suiting up to make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut soon. She will be playing the titular character in Marvel’s upcoming show She-Hulk. With that said, Mark Ruffalo will also return to portray Bruce Banner along and it will be Tatiana Maslany who’ll be portraying Walters in the show. The makers have begun the show’s filming and it is largely expected to land anytime soon in the year 2022.

Green Lantern

The first take on Green Lantern didn’t go that well and that is why a re-launch was necessary for the makers to bring in. With that said, Berlanti, the executive producer of the upcoming Green Lantern, echoed that it is going to be the biggest DC show ever made in history. It is going to be a ten-episode show and will also introduce characters such as Guy Garner, Simon Baz, Alan Scott, Jessica Cruz, and Kilowog alongside Green Lantern.

Loki season 1’s post-credits scene confirmed that its season 2 is on its way. While no more information has been leaked about Loki season 2 by the makers, it is quite expected that it will launch anytime by the end of the year 2022. The first season of the Marvel and Disney+ series left a lot of questions unanswered and that is why it is undoubtedly expected that Loki season 2 will be a massive hit for the franchise. It will again see Tom Hiddleston playing the titular character alongside Owen Wilson as Mobius and Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie.
