Yesterday Warner Brothers. Announced Twilight star Robert Pattinson as their new caped crusader, theres still plenty about the film that’s unknown, down below we will discuss everything that’s confirmed or rumored about the Batman.

hopefully 2020 and 2021 will be a good year for DC with Wonder Woman 1984 and Birds Of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn) having a 2020 release date, The Suicide Squad and The Batman are set for 2021, Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn will helm the Suicide Squad and War Of The Planet Of The Apes director Matt Reves will write and direct the Batman, both movies will have a summer release date and both movies will start filming this year.

Detective Batman.
In the comics Batman is referred to ‘the words greatest detective’ strangely this hasn’t been explored on the big screen the way it should, in numerous animated movies from DC they focus on the paranoid detective batman, which is a fan favourite. Director Matt Reves did say on numerous occasions that his Batman film will focus on a detective batman, in Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice, we see a ‘tester’ of this style of Batman, although in the comics batman doesn’t just use technology. His also a genius so hopefully in The Batman we can explore this.

[3] 1990s.
Although this is currently a rumor, many state the movie will be based in the 90s, this could lead a connection to Wonder Woman 1984 as there timeline is similar. Sources do state that its not an origin movie and won’t explore an early Batman but rather an experienced and young Bruce Wayne, its unknown how Warner Brothers will bring Pattinson into the current DC Extended Universe timeline, after all we know CGI on someone’s face is definitely NOT the answer.

[4] Rouges.
This is also a rumor, Batman probably has the greatest rouges gallery of all time, of course rumors would pick up that Matt Reves wants to borrow a few. Characters such as Catwoman and Penguin are on top of the list, now sources state there will be over 6 rouges in the film! Although this seems EPIC! Warner Brothers should keep low with two rouges, after all we don’t want another Suicide Squad or Spider-Man 3. However cameos of characters such as the Riddler would be an awesome way to set up the sequel.

[5] Trilogy.
The Dark Knight trilogy is probably the strongest Superhero chapter DC has, with the Dark Knight (2008) being the first Superhero movie ever to gross over a billion dollars at the box office, The film also had an incredible performance from the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. Warner Brothers must be confident in both Reves and Pattinson as they ordered a trilogy, that’s correct without fans even seeing a screen test of Pattinson we definitely have 3 solo movies with him and possible Justice League Sequel (s). Hopefully Reves can give us an awesome and different trilogy.

[6] Robin.
This is also a rumor, after all the Batman news yesterday, sources state that ‘a’ Robin will be in the movie, while fans speculate that its Damien Wayne little is known about It, its also important that the movies not overcrowded. While exploring the Bat Family would be strong for Warner Brothers its also important we have surprises for future batman and DC related Films.

[7] Not Affleck.
This one is confusing, while you would assume that Pattinson will continue the storyline of Affleck he actually won’t, in fact he won’t have anything to do with Afflecks portrayal as Batman, yesterday on Twitter, Matt Reves stated that he will be connected to the current DC Universe, saying “batman will be batman”

[8] Soft Reboot.
Wonder Woman 1984 is said to be a Flashpoint storyline (Source: Grace Randolph) which will reboot the DC Extended Universe, well not really it will only eliminate Affleck and probably Henry Cavill. One advantage Warner Brothers do have is in the 2011 graphic novel the Flash (now Wonder Woman) changed reality back given us the old DC Universe back, if the Flashpoint story doesn’t work they can just change it back.
