After the ‘Avengers: Endgame’, the Marvel fans have received the most exciting piece of news last Wednesday stating that the much awaited Captain Marvel 2 is certainly in the works and would be released by 2022. But this big news does not stop just there. The Marvel fans are in it for a ride.
Search for female Directors continues
It has also been reported that the writer of the Disney+’s upcoming WandaVision series, Megan McDonnell, has been working on the script on the Captain Marvel 2 too! Since the directors of the previous Captain Marvel movie, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are not expected to return anytime soon, the Marvel Studios are looking for a female director to take the steering wheel for the sequel.
Will it be set in the past or in the present?
In addition to the above mentioned news pieces, the report provided fans a lot to get excited about. It also informs that Captain Marvel 2 will not be set in the past, and will instead be embedded in the present world, an indication that the setting will be in fact a post-Avengers: Endgame world.
What Captain Marvel herself has got to say?
This update is especially interesting for fans as last month Captain Marvel star Brie Larson informed Variety that she didn’t know when the sequel would be coming out next.
“I don’t really know what job I’m going to do next, which is very exciting. I don’t even know what my life’s gonna be!” Larson said. “And most of this year, you know, I had to do the press tour. But then the last half of the year, I’ve just been focusing way more on just doing what I want to do that’s completely outside of my job.”
The excitement among the fans is contagious!
The Marvel fans are simply thrilled to see another super-hero movie sequel to soon hit the theaters. There is a mixed response from most of the fans. While some fans are excited to see a new female director take the role of bringing out the Captain Marvel 2 movie, some fans are happy to know that the movie is still coming out despite the negativity that persisted among few of the fans when the first part had hit the theaters. But most of all, the fans are simply excited to just the feel the thrill of watching a Marvel movie, again.
