Would Copley return?

In an interview, a few months later, the director also mentioned, “There was a topic in American history that the second I realized that that fit into the world of District 9, it felt like an awesome way to do a sequel. So yeah, it continues to be developed and it’s getting a lot closer.” He later elaborated, “saw a documentary about a well-known socio-political topic two years ago and that had a massive effect on me– it made me understand how this sequel could have a real reason for existing. The second that clicked, I just began working.” Thus, it could be safe to assume that the story might continue after where it stopped in District 9.
