Toxic masculinity might not get you anywhere but it does get you clout and some people are really good at exploiting that. The Romanian-based British American kickboxer and online personality, Andrew Tate, has been climbing a ladder to fame that’s built more or less out of misogyny. If there is one thing in abundance in the world right now, it’s wannabe dank incels. What Andrew Tate propagates is a masculine frame of mind although the underlying logic beneath his statements defies any semblance of logic whatsoever.
Andrew Tate: certified incel and a criminal
What is concerning about Andrew Tate is that he’s not just someone who trash talks women but in actuality has had several sexual harassments, rape, and human trafficking charges against him – the primary reason why he had to leave Britain and move to Romania in 2017. He has been notorious for his problematic stance on the #MeToo victim accounts, claiming that the ones who face assault have a shared responsibility in their being assaulted. From calling depression a fake disease to beating a woman with a belt, the man has done it all. And he has done it yet again by making horrendously offensive statements about easily one of the most popular women worldwide, Kylie Jenner.
The ‘Masculine Frame’ or simple misogyny?
Andrew Tate was recently on an episode of the Full Send Podcast where he was asked if he had ever dated a girl who made more money than him, to which Tate replied in a breath’s time, claiming, “that’s impossible”. When the interviewer asked Tate specifically about dating Kylie Jenner, the ‘masculine form’ propagator first brushed it off saying that Jenner was not richer than him, followed by some mumbo jumbo that for him richness was not measured by just money or financial status. Within a minute of claiming that he had never been with a girl richer than him, Tate went back on his words and said,
“I’ve spent most of my life dating girls who were richer than me, like for a long time, I had no money and I dated b****es, she might have more money than me… that’s no problem for me because I’m still in control, I’m still in charge… The masculine frame is not all about money. The idea that it’s all money is not true at all, right? I did very very well in my life when I had no money and… I was a professional fighter and I was on the way up, and I was fighting and I didn’t really have that much money.”
The former Big Brother contestant then went on to suggest that he would totally date Kylie Jenner, or any girl richer than him for that luxurious lifestyle, at which he was asked what would he bring to the table in that case (implying that he had nothing to offer in a relationship except money). The interviewer asked, “What leverage do you have over them if you’re not taking care of them?” Tate replied by saying everything that was hers including her person, would belong to him, whole and sole. “If I’m on that jet, it’s my jet. If I’m on her jet, it becomes my jet… if she’s my chick, then you know she’s mine so her things are now mine.”
How Andrew Tate justified cheating
“I really don’t know what Kylie Jenner looks like”
One of the most shocking things during the podcast was Tate claiming, “I really don’t know what Kylie Jenner looks like” when back in 2019, Kylie Jenner had become the youngest self-made billionaire. Kylie Jenner’s current net worth amounts to almost $600 million while Andrew Tate’s net worth caps at $30 million, and yet he claimed to be richer than Jenner.
