The Legend of Vox Machina Is An Animated Adaptation Of Critical Role

Critical Role is a well-known web series that featured a group of voice actors playing the game of Dungeons and Dragons. The cast for Critical Role includes Marisha Ray, Matthew Mercer, Liam O’Brien, Ashley Johnson, Taliesin Jaffe, Travis Willingham, and Sam Riegel. The Legend of Vox Machina happens to be an animated adaptation of Critical Role’s first Dungeons & Dragons campaign which began as a home game before eventually making its way into Geek and Sundry as a part of programming in 2015. While this campaign ended in 2018, the characters have remained relevant in Critical Role merchandise, book deals, and comics. A Kickstarter campaign was launched by Critical Role to fund the production of an animated show featuring the characters as well as adapting events from the first D&D campaign. This campaign raised well over $11 million before becoming the most funded Kickstarter campaign of all time. Amazon Studios had earlier agreed to pick up the series and renewed the series for a second season while it was still in production.
