Since the recent release of the new Flash costume for Gustin’s The Flash on CW, a lot of people have criticized the costume and have even made remarks about Gustin’s appearance.

However, The Flash fans have defended Gustin and have shown their support over social media against the negative comments about his appearance.

The criticism against Gustin was so troubling that he took to Instagram himself, addressing the leaked costume. He even explained that the suit shown in the leaked image isn’t in final form. He even addressed the body shaming comments, saying that these comments have followed him his whole life and that it needs to end. Here’s what Gustin had to say about the comments on Instagram:

“I’m happy with my body and who I am and other kids who are built like me and thinner than me should be able to feel the same way. Not only that, but they should be able to feel like THEY could be a superhero on tv or film or whatever it may be someday. I love the suit that has been designed for me, and I think when everyone sees it in its entirety, you will love it too.”

Fans seem to agree with Gustin as many expressed their support for him over Twitter– even though Agustin doesn’t use the platform anymore. The fans even pointed out that Flash’s character isn’t supposed to be someone muscular like Superman or Batman.

Whatever the case might be, fans are supporting their favourite actor in his attempt to bring Flash to life on screen. The fifth season of The Flash will debut on October 9, 2018 on The CW.
