George R.R. Martin Won’t Write Any Episodes Of GoT Spin-Off House Of The Dragon Till He Does [This]

George R.R. Martin is the backbone of the entire Game of Thrones tv-show and he will remain so for any future spinoffs which are based on that world. But as far as crafting episodes go, he won’t be involved anymore for now.  At least that’s what he says for the recently announced Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon.

George R.R. Martin certainly had to be happy regarding the announcement of the House of the Dragons tvshow on HBO Max. But he has promised that he will not write for the show till he finishes Winds of Winter. Fans of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series will be familiar with the book Martin has been working on. It is the sixth novel in the series and Martin has been working on it since 2011. Martin has said this on his official website called Not a Blog. He has reassured fans that he is hard at work on Winds of Winter. He wrote that:

I expect to be involved in all of this to some extent… and, who knows, if things work out, I may even be able to script a few episodes, as I did for the first four seasons of GAME OF THRONES. But… let me make this perfectly clear… I am not taking on any scripts until I have finished and delivered WINDS OF WINTER. Winter is still coming, and WINDS remains my priority, as much as I’d love to write an episodes of HOUSE.

So for now HBO will have to fend for themselves.
